The El Cordova Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Coronado. It is unusual in that it is incorporated into a complex that includes shops and restaurants, yet it has its own pool, BBQ area and courtyard.

My first foray into the hotel lobby was while I was having lunch at Miguel’s, a very popular Mexican restaurant within the complex. Even though I was just there to use the Ladies Room, the staff was extremely friendly and open.

I love the Spanish hacienda style architecture and the tile work is magnificent. The hotel was built in 1902 as a retirement home for Elisha Babcock, the builder of the Hotel Del Coronado. Eight years after his death, the mansion was turned into a hotel in 1930.

Over the years, it has been renovated and expanded so that today there are a variety of accommodation choices with modern amenities. Many of the rooms include kitchen facilities.

Room choices include deluxe standard rooms, deluxe one and two bedroom suites, junior suites, and the Casa Grande. The rooms are very comfortable and the décor is beautiful. Staying at the El Cordova Hotel is a unique and wonderful experience no matter which accommodation you choose. Go find out more details about the El Corodova Hotel and get the best rates.
