Before I moved to Coronado, I did stay at the Hotel Del Coronado in the Victorian Building as a treat and had a delightful time. Since then, I have had family and friends stay there in both the Victorian Building and in the more modern Ocean Towers.
Although the rooms in the Victorian Building are smaller and there is an overall historic feel to them, I like them better than the ones in the Ocean Towers. But, you have to decide what style of experience you want to have. And, there are many options for rooms at the Hotel Del Coronado varying in size, view and style.
The Victorian building is the original and main building of the 31-acre beachfront property. Its rooms are smaller and offer a romantic, classic 19th century décor combined with modern amenities.
The rooms in the Ocean Towers are modern with a Caribbean ocean theme. Situated south of the Victorian Building, the Ocean Towers are quieter and more peaceful.
The California Cabanas are on the ground floor of the Ocean Towers and are wonderful rooms with patios facing the walkway along the beach. They look wonderful, but you have to be aware that they are right on the walkway.
The newest additions to the accommodations at the Hotel Del Coronado are the oceanfront Beach Village cottages and villas. These are very modern, sophisticated and luxurious. Staying in these is truly a beach vacation fantasy come true.
I love the beauty and grace of the hotel and often walk around the grounds, through the shops and through the Victorian Building. There is no ‘off’ season here and the special events and decorations around each of the holidays make a visit to “The Del” even more special.
No matter which accommodations you choose, you will have access to all the Hotel Del Coronado has to offer. Check out the Hotel Del Coronado to find out more about it and get the best rates.
